DIRECTORS

Ed Ahrens

Managing Director

Ed co-founded Aspen in 2017 and prior to that has 30 years' experience within speciality finance with up to £20 bln under management.

This included Director roles at Vanquis Bank, Head of Operations at Barclays Bank and being part of the founding team of Abbey National Direct.

Jack Coombs

Jack co-founded Aspen in 2017 after working alongside Ed as Group Development Executive at S&U and prior to was part of the PwC Valuations. Jack holds an MA (Oxon) and is ACA qualified.

Jack is also an avid supporter of charity and swam the Channel from England to France in 2011 in 13 hrs and 46 mins to raise funds for Alzheimer's Research & Mondo Challenge.

Manjeet Bhogal

Finance Director

Manjeet is a qualified ACMA accountant with 12 years' experience in financial services and previously worked as Head of Finance and Company Secretary for S&U Plc.

Manjeet is a dedicated member of the Aspen team since re-joining the S&U Group in 2019 and brings and excellent eye for detail and thoroughness to our team.

Rory joins Aspen with 13 years of experience in sales, entirely within UK Mortgages & property finance.

He was most recently Senior Business Development Manager at MT Finance where he contributed to a major growth period from 2020 to 2022, before which he was Business Development Manager for the London area at Precise Mortgages which saw similar impressive performance from 2016 to 2020.

Rory’s role is to drive & grow the Aspen sales team. Ultimately to achieve our ambitious originations growth plans, through his expansive broker network.

Steve joins Aspen as the Southern Business Development Manager with over 10 years sales experience, including over 5 years at Castle Trust Bank.

It is Steve’s role to promote Aspen to both new and existing brokers and ensure they have a good understanding of our products.

Jamaal has joined Aspen with a BA Hons in Business & Management from Birmingham and 5 years’ experience in the term mortgage market as an underwriter for Paragon and Legal & General.

Jamaal has now been with Aspen over a year and has fully enjoyed the move from the term lending to the specialist market with its broader role in underwriting.

Laura is our latest recruit and comes to us after 6 years in the Warwickshire police with a BSc in Psychology from Aston university.

Aqib has joined Aspen after completing his LPC & MSc in Law, Business and Management from The University of Law. Prior to this, he obtained an LLB from Keele University and has a background in property refurbishment and investment.

Since joining Aqib completed his first case working in lending within 9 days. He is currently going through our full training programme within our lending team.

Wayne Hicklin

Wayne is an invaluable founding member of the Aspen team and has over 25 years' experience in the specialist finance industry both as a broker at GE and Promise and now as a lender at Aspen.

In addition, Wayne has excellent experience in development projects and has self- built and refurbished a range of properties and is the key driver of our new light development product.

Sonny has an excellent background in Law both from his degree and his experience as a Senior Litigation Paralegal and prior to joining Aspen also worked in regulated bridging at Greenfield.

Since joining Aspen Sonny has worked in all elements of the process and undergoes countless site visits to help us appraise lending proposals and offer in house monitoring of live cases.

Amir joins Aspen with a first-class law degree from Aston University and 2 years working as a Litigation Executive in a leading law firm.

Amir undertakes numerous site visits to appraise lending proposals, while engaging with key stakeholders throughout the life cycle of the loan.

Martyn Everitt

Martyn joined Aspen in 2019 with a degree in Computer Gaming and Programming and has since worked on diverse projects, both front and back-end, using VB.net, JavaScript & CSM.

Martyn also produces our advertising & marketing projects using a range of Adobe applications.
